The Sky Is Falling. Summer 1944, in an elegant villa in Tuscany In the summer of 1944, Penny and her younger sister Baby, orphaned by a car accident, are taken to live with their mother's sister in an elegant villa in the Tuscan countryside. The aunt is married to a handsome German Jew, a lover of music and the arts. The entire story is viewed through Penny's eyes. It is with her we explore the fascinating world which revolves around the island of happiness formed by the villa and its unconventional guests, as well as the surrounding rustic life, which depends on the villa. The film portrays the simple events, which take place from the summer of 1944 until the tragic conclusion of the War. These include the friendships established with the peasant children, school, religious problems, the growing awareness of a cruel, inescapable reality, the discovery of the first furtive contacts of love and the magnetism of Uncle Wilhelm.Decade Under The Influence. Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, Robert Altman, Julie Christie, Peter Bogdanovich, William Friedkin, Roger Corman, Paul Schrader, Hal Ashby: all revolutionised moviemaking with their personal visions and all are brought together in A Decade Under The Influence. In this excellent documentary by the late Ted Demme (Director of Beautiful Girls, Blow and others before his tragic death in 2002) and Richard LaGravenese (acclaimed for his screenplays of The Fisher King, Beloved and The Bridges Of Madison County), all the key players in what became known as the Second Hollywood golden Age talk about their colleagues, films and memories of that extraordinary era. Disputed and celebrated: Herman Nitsch, Actionist and painter, composer and stage designer. He is one of the most renowned Austrain artists of today and never the less still divides the art world as before. Nitsch belongs beside Gunter Brus, Otto Muhl and Rudolf Schwarzkogler to the most important main actors of Viennese Actionism. At the beginning of the sixties he carried out his first 'Actions' in Vienna, which involved several trials and three terms of imprisonment. His main work, the Orgy Mystery Theatre, inspired by Greek mythology, as well as by Antonin Artaud or Sigmund Freud, has been introducing, building up and carrying on all art forms since this time. On the DVD there is a 4-hour overview of all actions of 1962-2003, as well as an interview from 2005.
